I am 18 yrs old and im traveling to beirut, lebanon what are the things i should know?

I am going to visit my boyfriends lebanese family, I am mixed half white and dominican. What are the things I should know before traveling to Beirut, Lebanon? Places anybody would recommend? Places anybody would recommend NOT going to/or doing? Things I should know while I'm there?
