Why do people call Dominicans black? We are not Black, we are mixed...?

I'm not fully Dominican (my dad is Puerto Rican, my mom is Dominican), but it still bothers me. My mom doesn't look Black, she looks mixed which is what Dominicans are! So pleeease stop the ignorance.
