Why are atheists so much smarter than christians and muslims?

It's probably more along the lines that the people with a mind that wants to understand tend to go looking for answers, educate themselves, and in some circumstances find they can no longer believe in gods. Hence why atheists might score higher. Being an atheist certainly doesn't make you smarter but how one came to be an atheist might enlighten why their IQ is higher.
